Our Projects
The company FAB has undertaken, starting from July 1, 2023, and for a duration of 36 months, an ambitious investment program called “fabGRADE: energy optimization, sustainability, and technology for product innovation and production capacity growth,” which includes the following lines of intervention:
- A.2. – Expansion of an existing production unit. The new FAB 11 production facility will be approximately 10,000 square meters and will host new production lines.
- C – Implementation of 3 industrial research/experimental development projects:
- Reengineering of the kitchen worktop (RE.P.LI.CA.). The objective is to redesign the structural composition of the kitchen worktop using a new technology called alveolar. This would result in several advantages including direct savings on material costs and product development costs; total savings on logistics costs; reduction in damage costs during handling and better customer experience; greater environmental sustainability of the product through CO2 emission savings.
- Immersive navigation for maintenance (N.I.MA.). The goal is to equip maintenance operators with wearable augmented reality devices so that they can access information on the correct execution of activities hands-free (augmented operators) and, thanks to egocentric vision systems, build a photographic file of critical operations to be performed and automate the quality system checklists.
- Blockchain for FAB product traceability (BperTrack). The objective is to develop a blockchain-based certification system for transparency, traceability, and quality of FAB products.
- E – Energy-environmental innovation intervention which includes the following objectives:
- Reduction of emissions through the construction of a photovoltaic system;
- Improvement of energy efficiency;
- Recycling and reuse of waste.
Through the fabGRADE investment program and in particular with the expansion of the FAB 9 plant by creating the FAB 11 facility, the company aims to increase production and its level of internationalization. The objectives thus have a dual nature:
- The entry into markets not yet covered by the company and the increase/strengthening in those where it is already present;
- The increase in production volumes and the production flexibility of the company also through the rationalization and simplification of the main production process.
Through the creation of a new production unit and the implementation of additional lines of intervention, FAB expects a significant employment increase by the end of the Program.
In the face of an overall investment of €24,118,052.53, FAB was granted a contribution of €1,475,791.27. The investment program falls within the scope of the “Regional Investment and Innovation Agreements” call in implementation of art. 2 of L.R. 4/2022 approved by the Decree of the Head of the Industry, Craftsmanship, and Credit Sector of the Marche Region. A Regional Investment and Innovation Agreement was therefore signed concerning the implementation of the Investment Program between FAB and the Marche Region on November 15, 2023.
